چکیده
The present contribution investigates the biocatalytic performance of lipase obtained from latex native plant known as Araujia sericifera (ASL) in hydrolysis followed by esterification released free fatty acids and transesterification glycerides sunflower waste cooking oil WCO. A specific enzymatic activity 719.05 ?mol mg?1 h?1 (60 % conversion triglycerides towards acids) was WCO with 0.05 biocatalyst (typically, 10.0 g 5.0 mg enzyme) 50 w/w water added 30 min reaction at 25 °C homogeneous type system. has capacity to catalyze mainly monoglycerides diglycerides a lesser extent. FFAs remaining reacted tandem addition short chain alcohols immediately after (without more enzyme media). Above 90 methanol, ethanol, n-propanol n-butanol contents low 1:0.2 oil: alcohol molar ratio °C. (about 20 %) also observed although no further detected even under great excess alcohol.

Esterification of Waste Cooking Oil Followed by Transesterification by CaO Nanoparticles: Application of Taguchi Methodology
In order to produce biodiesel from waste cooking oil and optimize its yield, a two-stage process of esterification/ transesterification has been used in this study. First, we used the acidic catalysts H2SO4 in order to diminish the content of free fatty acid (FFA) in oil that caused reducing the oil acidity from 6.1% to 0.57% through esterification. Then, the biodiesel was produced by transeste...

Oils with high content of free fatty acid (FFA) can be treated by acid esterification where an alcohol reacts with the given oil in the presence of acid catalyst. The investigated parameters include methanol to oil ratio, temperature and amount of catalyst. The optimum conditions for acid esterification which could reduce FFA content in the feedstock to less than 1.88% (acid value 3.76 mg KOH/g...
متن کاملTransesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst
Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...
متن کاملDeacidification and Esterifaction of Waste Cooking Oil: Comparison of the Coupled Process with Stand- Alone Catalytic Esterification and Extraction Processes
The free fatty acids in waste oil with high acid value were removed and transformed into fatty acid methyl esters by the extraction-reaction coupled process. The de-acidification efficiency and esterification conversion in the extraction-reaction coupled process were studied and compared with those in the stand-alone extraction process and the esterification process, respectively. Compared with...
